15th International Russian Poetry Festival "Pushkin in Britain"

Dear friends, we are happy to kindly invite you to one of the events of the 15th International Festival of Russian Poetry “Pushkin in Britain”, an annual competition among Russian-speaking poets living abroad which is takling place on 19-23th of October. Cambridge University Russian Society will be hosting the Poetic Slam ‘Beyond the Barriers’ at Cambridge University on Sunday, 22nd of October! When: 22.10.2017, 1 to 3 pm Where: Wood-Legh room, Lucy Cavendish College The Poetic Slam theme this year is a line from Pushkin: «ВСЕ ТЕ ЖЕ МЫ: НАМ ЦЕЛЫЙ МИР ЧУЖБИНА…» «WE ARE STILL THE SAME: THE WHOLE WORLD IS FOREIGN LAND TO US…» The Festival is supported by the BLAVATNIK Family Foundation, the Embassy of Russian Federation in the UK, and the Federal Agency ‘Rossotrudnichestvo’. Poetic Slam is just one of the events making the Festival: it will host panel discussions, jury’s workshops and improvisation contest during the night cruise on Thames. This years jurys are laureates of multiple awards and prizes: – poet Olesja Nikolaeva; – writer Mikhail Popov; – poet Andrey Galagama; – writer Oleg Borushko; – last year’s Festival awardee Oleg Babinov.
