Fourth Pushkin Festival was held in Ireland -- The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ireland

On June 22-23, 2019 the Fourth Pushkin Festival was held in Ireland (in Dundalk and Drogheda) on the initiative of the Russian compatriots organization “Russkiy Most” (“Russian Bridge”) in connection with the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin with the support of the Department of foreign economic and international cooperation of Moscow (Russian Federation) and the Russian Embassy in Ireland.

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ireland Mr. Yuriy A. Filatov, the head of the Irish-Russian Parliamentary liaison group in the Parliament of Ireland Fergus O’Dowd, the former Ambassador of Ireland to Russia Philip McDonagh addressed the guests of the festival.

The program of the event included the readings of Alexander Pushkin’s poems in Russian and English in the translation by Director of the Project “Pushkin for the Whole World” Julian Henry Lowenfeld, screening of the films “Pushkin. Last Duel” and “Our Pushkin”, directed by the honored artist of the Russian Federation Natalia Bondarchuk, concert of the Russian national actor Alexander Pyatkov, poetry recital in the format of “Literary Room” with J.H.Lowenfeld, performances by the members of the “E Motion” dance-group in the “Raduga” dance school, dance school “Olympus”, students of the branch of international movie and theatre school named after S.F.Bondarchuk and headed by the honored artist of the Russian Federation Natalia Bondarchuk, modeling from clay the heroes of the fairy tales of Alexander Pushkin with representatives of the Russian center “Matryoshka”, poetry recital competition organized by the Cultural Association “Russian Ireland”.

The festival included a fair of books, an exhibition of photographs by Russian and Irish photographers “Moscow through the eyes of the Irish” and “Ireland through the eyes of the Russian compatriots”.
